What is involved in a beginner lesson?
The most important focus is creating a connection between horse and rider, students learn how to read a horses body language so they know how their horse is feeling and how they communicate, this empowering our students too feel safe as they know what the horse is saying to them.
In our first lessons we are fitted with a correctly fitted helmet and learn the safety rules around the property. We meet our horse for the first time (very exciting moment this has been a long wait for many students), learning how to safely approach, brush and saddle up your pony. We mount for the first time learning to relax and we do some fun stretches, then feeling the rhythm of the walk and how to safely go, stop and turn your pony. Our future lessons go on too learning how to controlling your horses body with your legs and seat we then move on feeling trotting later progressing to cantering. We use fun games and riding exercises to build riders balance and confidence.
Group lessons are available we have achieved a good rise trot with control of your horse.
